Puts on her best smile
But holds one thousand words
School had been let out an hour ago, Aiko was now walking into the library. Today was the perfect day for a studying with someone, with them being into Pre-Med as well it made it more exciting. Her bags were full of old and new books, also with her notebook and pens. Pencils were okay and everything, but they tended to just smudge way to much. So did pens at times, but that's when you need to use pens that do not just squirt ink. Pencils were also to easily changed with an eraser, eraser shavings get everywhere, ugh it was just a mess. With her pens she had her handy white out liquid, just in case she had to fix anything on paper.
The reason it was a perfect day for this study meeting, was because her after school classes were not today. Most college level classes really, one of them being a language class. The German language was a course she had been wanting to take, she had heard of an excellent study abroad course in Germany, the place she was hoping to go in the future. Wouldn't hurt to learn German, right? Then again French and Latin were always interesting languages. Maybe sometime soon, Aiko thought. She remembered how challenging English was to learn, let alone write and read. Everything seemed to be disorganized or some words had so many different spellings, not to mention different meanings. Maybe learning one new language at a time was best.
Athena was one of her few friends she had a school, her outgoing personality was constantly pushing Aiko's shy personality. As much as she loved hanging out with her, sometimes she would avoid her so she could get back to her studies. Maybe that could be a reason for all the rumors, she thought. She did understand why people would look at her like that, but why fight with the rumors? Everyone all over the school knew them, most she could hope for was people giving her a chance. Well not many connections were probably for the best. Aiko loved Japan, but wanted to leave and study abroad. Knowing many people would just make a good-bye even harder.
The chance to study with someone who was interested in Pre-Med, was quite rare for Aiko. Anyone she knew that wanted to be a doctor, was not as much into it as Aiko was. Athena had mentioned Ikarus and mentioned that he was into Pre-Med as well. Hearing that he had been interested in studying with her, well that was very exciting to hear. After school, Aiko had grabbed all her Pre-Med books. Some being her mother's old books and the rest being new books she had bought. She was hoping that he was bringing other books, possibly interesting articles to read from. She had read a view medical articles, a few were interesting and a few weren't. It was a bit sad when people seemed to be filled with "hot air", a term her mother would use to describe many doctors. Why go into the medical field if you are not fully into it? It just was not right.
Sitting at an empty table, Aiko let her heavy load of bags drop onto the floor. I wish there really was fourth dimensional bags, Aiko thought with a smile. She could just slip so many books into the bag and it will be almost weightless. Sadly that was impossible. With a sigh, Aiko rubbed her shoulders quickly. I wonder when he is supposed to show up, she thought. Aiko quickly pulled out a few Pre-Med books, her notebook, and her pen. Thankfully she had actually finished much of her homework at lunch, she had her usual lunch up on the roof. Was quite peaceful and she was able to concentrate quite well. However she did have a test approaching in German, she could study a bit before Ikarus arrived. Aiko opened her notebook and started to review.
