[/i] - Pretty self-explanatory. Ava does not hold failure in high esteem - both in herself and in others. Outright failure, that is. She believes that it is fine to fail if one learns from their failure - however, to moan and groan, to inhabit the failure, clinging onto it for dear life - that, she despises. Ava has failed many times in her life. She's not proud of it... but she has. Still, she does not regret any failure, because she has made the most of each one. To better herself for the future.technical information !

likes:
- Style - Style is very important to Ava. It does not merely serve as a means for self-expression; no, it is also the only faucet that seems to fully satisfy her mother. Her mother, Evelyn, was once a great model. After she gave birth to Avalyn, she suffered a tumultuous fall off of the runway. Both of her legs were broken; they were put into casts for an undefinable amount of time. Even after the removal of the casts, however, Evelyn's legs were never the same; she could not return to her craft, and therefore turned all of her aspirations onto Avalyn. Thus the similarity in names - in many ways, Avalyn is everything that Evelyn could never be. Still, Evelyn is a perfectionist and finds it easy enough to find fault in something - especially in her daughter. Her daughter's style and frequent appearances in various fashion magazines seems to be the only thing that appeases her and shuts her up completely.
- Her senshi mission - If one were to say that Avalyn had been lost prior to meeting Artemis, most would most likely laugh out loud and call complete and utter bollocks on the person in question. Still, though Avalyn was privy to a multitude of awards for various achievements during her teenage years, she never felt entirely... at home in her life. Sometimes, she felt as if she was merely a passing ghost, working day by day to please someone, anyone - but never herself. Discovering her senshi identity as Sailor V has led her to regain a general focus in her life. It grounds her. Her mission is her anchor and she is completely dedicated to fulfilling it - one would have to kill her to stop her from finding the other scouts and awakening her princess.
- Games - Ava is most definitely multi-faceted when it comes to her personality. Though constantly envied by other girls for her outer calm and feeling of unsurpassed 'maturity,' in truth, Ava is as big of a fan of boys as the next girl. She enjoys flirting with them; playing with them - though she's had serious relationships here and there, her occupation in the celebrity field has taught her to guard her heart with her whole being. Ava is naturally charismatic and especially enjoys those who fascinate her - who spark an interest in her. The same old is, well, quite frankly - the same old. And that's quite boring, isn't it?
- Traveling - There is so much to see, so much to be done! A thing that Ava has always whole-heartedly believed in - her ability to change the world. Now, with the touch of old memories and with a senshi uniform on her body, she finally feels like she can embody that change. She loves to travel, and she wishes to do it more often - especially after finding the rest of the girls. Though she has traveled to Japan as the result of a consultation with Artemis, she does not plan to stay there for long; once crime is eradicated there, she is sure that other places will need the girls just as much. But on a less serious note, Ava also enjoys to travel because of the explorer in her; her all-time favorite place that she has ever visited would most definitely have to be Venice. While she does enjoy luxury, she prefers places of rich history - ones such as Venice, in which you could easily get lost in - versus a crowded or very materialistic place such as Milan. The only exceptions would, of course, have to be New York and London - but even then, Venice wins out on the list for her.
- Nights alone - Ava has a love-hate relationships with 'me-time nights,' as she likes to call them. When she does not wish to be social and is alone for her own purposes, she quite enjoys her 'me-time nights'; however, when she is forced into loneliness, then she is, quite on the contrary, highly upset. A perfect night alone would be spent, in Ava's mind, with a glass of wine, a pack of cigarettes, and a good romance novel - the latter of which she would never admit to reading to any of her friends or acquaintances. No one would ever of think Avalyn Petit as one to gush over romanticism and dukes dressed up in grandeur, sweeping damsels in distress quietly away into their warm embraces.
dislikes:
Competition - Ava is fiercely competitive. While she may not appear to be outwardly so, inwardly, she scolds herself every time one of her competitors manages to get ahead of her. Therefore, it is easy to see why she dislikes competition in general, so much - although competition allows her to thrive, it makes it all the more harder. Still, competition and Ava have a love-hate relationship - as much as she hates the competition, she knows that she would be nowhere without it; furthermore, she knows that she would not be capable of fully appreciating anything in life without some sort of sense of 'winning', which occurs only after overtaking a worthy competitor.
Science - The bane of Ava's existence. She's memorized the minimum in case of emergencies - how to mix herbs correctly, how to recognize signs of acidic or basic soil, etc. Things that could prove to be useful. Still, this subject is the least favored by Ava, and will automatically put her in a bad mood. A fair warning: stay away from it.
Liars and Cheaters: Ava heatedly despises liars and cheaters. Cheaters, both in the sense of cheating on tests and cheating on a partner in a relationship - she despises it all. Though there is a clear sort of undertone of irony in this, given that the life she lives is based on lies - and the fact that her profession requires for her to lie all the time - she is still unrelenting when it comes to finding it in her to forgive those who have cheated or lied.
Bad Boys: Ah. The bad boys. Well, let's get right down to the truth, yes? Ava hates them. And loves them at the same time. The "sex" bed hair, the chain-smoking habits, the leather jackets, the Ray Bans and motorcycles - she loves them all, but hates how they manifest in most men that are utterly obsessed with themselves - and somehow yet still undeniably attractive. And she hates herself for being attracted to such men, as well - but what can be said, other than the fact that a guilty pleasure is a guilty pleasure?[/ul]
strengths:
- Pride - Most would think of pride as a downfall... but not Ava. Ava has an advantage over most people, you see - not only is she proud and confident in her own skin... but she also has looks and talent to back up those feelings of confidence. She's not entirely immodest, however. She's the harshest on herself - but, well, when you're eighteen and you've already been recognized by several institutions as a gifted actress and model, how would you feel? If you had been raised in the spotlight and you had been made into a cardboard cut-out, in more ways than one... how could you not begin to gather some confidence at your core?
- Charisma - Ava often appears aloof; somewhat cold and distant, but not entirely so to be labeled unfriendly or antisocial. However, because of her combined personality traits, she comes off as rather charming to most people - she has a large amount of charisma at her fingertips. When she talks, others listen, for she rarely says words that do not mean one thing or another. Most are mystified by the way she talks, the way she holds herself - some have called her beguiling; enchanting; bewitching. It is not something that comes entirely naturally to Ava, however - she has honed the skill to attract and be charismatic from a very young age, when her mother sat her down and told her: "Confidence is key, and people will never accept you if you do not pretend to be who they want you to be." After a while, that facade that Ava upheld became reality - and thus, here we are now.
- Intelligence - What Ava lacks in brawn, she makes up for in tactics. Because of her long-established participation in the field of modeling and acting, she has become a very creative sort of individual, capable of coming up with the weirdest scenarios on cue. Ava always thinks outside the box, and this often lends itself quite usefully to her missions during the night, when she is out prowling for youma. It especially has proved a vital trait in most of her escapes from youma that were too strong. Besides pure creativity, however, Ava is considerably smart - not the smartest individual on Earth, surely, but she has a way with people - with reading them - with grasping things. She is naturally adept in history, English, and math, given her interest in the subjects. Though she fails miserably at science, she has trained her brain to memorize the facts, in case she will ever need them for one reason or another.
- Agility - Ava might not be capable of lifting up cars; this is true. If you took her to the gym and asked her to lift some weights, she would probably fail at that too. But when it comes to agility - when it comes to agility, Ava is your girl. At the age of three, she began to take gymnastics. At the age of five, she added ballet to her daily schedule - among her many recitals and TV commercial auditions and, later on, modeling gigs. For a time from eight to thirteen, she competed nationally in gymnastics competitions - while also performing in several ballet performances - though, eventually, she was forced to give up on pursuing such things professionally, spurred on by her mother to focus on her budding acting career. Still, the skills have been retained throughout the years, and Ava is meticulous about keeping her body trained, daily. Flips, jumps, and fitting herself into awkward places, whether high or low, come easily to Ava. So, what she lacks in brawn, she most definitely makes up for in speed and agility.
- Collected - Few can penetrate Ava's deep mask of perfect ease and collected calm. Few can see beneath it, onto the turbulent emotions laying quietly asleep and entirely dormant. Ava's acting abilities are a definite strength, given that she can easily manipulate people if she so wishes - she knows the right things to say, and when to say them. Similarly, even when she feels like breaking down and crying her bloody eyes out, she can pretend to be alright - because that's what she's good at - pretending. Always pretending.
- Dauntless - There is little that Ava is afraid of. She's died once; how bad could it be to die again? She's convinced herself that she's here on this Earth to give it her all; to protect her princess, and to give up her life for her if she must. Ava's quality of dauntlessness allows for her to be the first one to attack; to charge - a good trait, given that as the leader of the inner senshi, she is more on the offensive than the defensive.
weaknesses:
- Insecurity - Everyone feels insecure, right? But those that meet Ava will pronounce her a goddess; she appears to be so confident, it is impossible to even comprehend for her to be, for a second, feeling insecure! And why would she feel insecure, anyhow? She is beautiful, they would say. Talented. Intelligent, even! So why? Well, it does not help, of course, that Ava's own mother, her one and only parent, has always been highly critical of her only daughter. Ava has been making the livelihood for the entire family for a while now - much rests on her shoulders. Ava holds others to high standards, yes - but she holds herself up to even higher ones. Nothing is ever good enough for her. She is always striving to do better. She is used to shouldering burdens; to taking on more and more pressure. But beneath the facade of easy calm and beauty lies a girl cracked with insecurities. Ava has as many doubtful moments as the next girl. She simply doesn't show them, because she sees them as weakness.
- Issues of Trust - Ava doesn't trust people, simple as that. As friendly as she outwardly appears, when it comes to others getting close to her - she won't let them in. Who could blame her? She grew up amongst those living in a caricature of lies and muffled sobs, after all. Still, this will prove to be a major weakness once she meets the other girls. While she has already idolized the moon princess in her own mind, she has yet to recover the fond memories of time past of the other senshi; it is therefore easy to assume that upon first meeting the girls, she will be disappointed. And when Ava is disappointed, she closes herself off. Forever.
- Lack of Brute Strength - Ava is far from physically strong. While she might be exceptionally flexible and agile, when it comes to brute strength, she has near to none. Therefore, an opponent much stronger than her could easily beat her to the pulp - if she didn't outsmart them first, of course.
- Bossy - Ava likes things a certain way. That has been established. She's not exactly a perfectionist - but she has a vision. She's awfully stubborn and a tad bit bossy. While liking to see herself as one to willingly compromise, there are times when she simply cannot - compromise, that is. Few people have spoken up against Ava's bossiness, especially in London, given her famosity. However, in Tokyo, it is bound to be a different matter - as her name is not as well-known, and as she is determined to escape London and put her past life behind her.
- Stubborn - This trait can be as much of a pro as a con. While it is good to be dedicated to the job; while it is good to go after your goals and dreams like there's no tomorrow - sometimes, it's not. Especially when one goes too far; when one overworks themselves, or faints from exhaustion. This has happened to Ava on more than one occasion. She doesn't do it purposefully. Rather, she becomes so engrossed in the task at hand, that she cannot think of anything else - sometimes, that anything else also includes sleeping and eating.
