November 27. 2 PM.
The snow was always so beautiful to Addie. Though she didn't quite like the cold or the way it would turn her skin red, she always loved to watch it fall. Sometimes, when she tilted her head to the side and squinted when the ground was covered and fresh snow, Addie could almost see the skyline of Britain. Though, strangely, the snow was always different. It never reflected the sun's rays or felt the same to her. However, it would always pulled a bit on her heartstrings, filling her stomach with a wave of nostalgia and longing that could only be attributed to her homeland.
It was always surprising how many people were out and about during a snowfall as heavy as this one. Perhaps it was because as the country's biggest and busiest city, Tokyo was just always filled with people going, going, going. Or maybe it was that the Japanese (as the British were in London) were just so used to the snow in winter that it bothered them little in relation to the mountain of things they had to accomplish each day. Whatever the case was, Addie always wondered why she came across so many people when the weather was like this. The only reason she walked out and about was because the sight and feel of the snow was utterly breathtaking, and it always reminded her of her childhood English Christmases, building snowmen outside her grandparents' house.
She pulled on her ice skates, having come to the pond, and looked all around with the smile reminiscent of a mischievous five year old's lining her face. Though people were walking through the main thoroughfares of the park with abandon, few if any had come across this mostly secluded pond. It was nice, because Addie preferred to do her skating alone anyway. It wasn't that she was terrible or anything - on the contrary, she was actually rather skilled - but she just did her best thinking when she was on the ice. Even though half her mind was usually focused on not falling, the other half was almost always focused on the ideas most troubling to her, working them out until they were little bigger than the size of a pea.
However, the things troubling Addison Swann today were not the ordinary light issues plaguing any other teenage girl. No, she was thinking how she had awakened fully when she was fifteen and now that she was in Japan, answering a call that seemed destined for her, she was unsure what to do. Her guardian had instructed her to put aside her Sailor V mantle for a while, to let others awaken in their own ways, but Addie was restless and impatient. She remembered so many things about the past life, and not all of them were happy.
She reached into the pocket of her coat and felt the curve of her transformation pen. Though Addie hadn't taken the form of her alter ego in a long time, she still carried the pen with her everywhere she went, always ready for a surprise attack. Ever since the Dark Agency had forced her to awaken at the age of thirteen, she had trained herself to fight off Youma and protect the elusive Silver Millennium Princess and heiress. However, how could she protect something she knew almost nothing about? How she could fight against something that had ceased to attack her?
Addie was constantly on edge, more so since she had started her senior year of high school. It couldn't possibly be long now before her fellows gained their transformations as well. But she was still restless.
